Defence Ministers Rajnath Singh and Belousov Lead 22nd India-Russia Military Commission in Delhi
New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and his Russian counterpart, Andrei Belousov, co-chaired the 22nd India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on Military and Military Technical Cooperation (IRIGC-M&MTC) ministerial meeting in New Delhi today.
The high-level talks, which take place on the sidelines of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s state visit, are crucial for reviewing the robust defence ties between the two nations.
In a statement, the Defence Ministry confirmed that the two leaders would review the entire spectrum of multi-faceted defence relations, including military and military-technical cooperation. A key focus is expected to be on the timely delivery of Russian military hardware to India, including the remaining S-400 air defence systems.
The Ministers will also utilize the platform to exchange views on contemporary regional and global issues of mutual interest, underscoring the deep strategic convergence between New Delhi and Moscow. The discussions are set to strengthen the core pillar of the India-Russia Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership.
