Four Arrested as Crime Branch Recovers Foreign-Made Pistols Smuggled via Pakistan Drones
NEW DELHI: Delhi Police has successfully dismantled an international arms trafficking racket with alleged links to Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI, leading to the arrest of four suspects.
In a meticulously coordinated operation, the Crime Branch recovered ten sophisticated pistols, including five manufactured in Turkey and three made in China. Briefing the media today, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime), Surender Kumar, stated that the network had been supplying high-end weapons to notorious criminal gangs. He further revealed that the arms were smuggled into India from Pakistan using drones.
The Crime Branch team, led by DCP Sanjeev Yadav, apprehended two suspects, Mandeep from Phillaur and Dalwinder from Ludhiana, while they were en route to deliver the weapons in Rohini. The third accused was identified as Rohan Tomar of Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, and the fourth arrested individual is Ajay, alias Monu.
The police confirmed that the investigation into the full extent of the network and its foreign linkages is ongoing, aiming to fully neutralize the supply chain of these sophisticated weapons.
