Home Minister Dedicates Next Year to BSF Welfare; Vows Naxal-Free India by March 2026
Bhuj, Gujarat (ATP) – Union Home Minister Amit Shah today announced that the next year will be entirely dedicated to the modernisation of the Border Security Force (BSF) and the welfare of its personnel.
Addressing the BSF’s Diamond Jubilee Foundation Day ceremony in Bhuj, Gujarat, the Home Minister revealed an ambitious goal set by the Ministry of Home Affairs: to transform the BSF into the “most modern and aggressive force in the world” within the next five years. He also highlighted the force’s vital role in rolling out the new concept of ‘e-Border’ security.
Highlighting the force’s success, Mr. Shah stated that the BSF has seized narcotics worth Rs. 12.95 lakh crore in various drug trafficking operations. On the internal security front, the Minister asserted the country would be free from Naxalism by March 31st, 2026, citing recent BSF actions in Chhattisgarh that led to the surrender of 127 Maoists.
Emphasizing the government’s resolve on national security, Mr. Shah vowed to “pick out and expel every single infiltrator” from the country. He also appealed for public support for the Election Commission’s ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list, calling it a process to “secure and purify the nation’s democracy.”
