Over 160 Vande Bharat Trains Now Operational as PM Launches New Services from Varanasi

Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today asserted that modern trains like Vande Bharat, Namo Bharat, and Amrit Bharat are collectively laying the crucial foundation for the next generation of Indian Railways. The Prime Minister made the statement while addressing a gathering after flagging off four new Vande Bharat Express trains from his parliamentary constituency, Varanasi.

The Prime Minister personally flagged off the Banaras-Khajuraho Vande Bharat train from the Varanasi Railway Station and simultaneously launched three other Vande Bharat services virtually, enhancing connectivity across major regions of the country.

The four new routes aim to significantly reduce travel time, promote tourism, and boost economic activity across the country. The new trains will operate on the following routes:

Highlighting the success of railway reforms, Prime Minister Modi noted that the number of Vande Bharat Express trains now operating in the country has surpassed 160, an achievement he congratulated the citizens for. He added that even foreign tourists are now “amazed” to witness the Vande Bharat trains.

“Infrastructure is a major factor in the economic growth of developed countries, and India is also moving fast on the path of development,” the Prime Minister stated. He stressed that a city begins to develop automatically when it is provided with better connectivity.

Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were present at the event. Following the launch, the Prime Minister interacted with children onboard the new Banaras-Khajuraho Vande Bharat Express.

The Prime Minister had arrived in Varanasi last evening and received a grand welcome from the people and party workers.
