GANDHINAGAR, GUJARAT: NITI Aayog’s Frontier Tech Hub today launched a strategic document, “Reimagining Agriculture,” outlining a comprehensive plan to integrate cutting-edge technologies into India’s farm sector. The roadmap aims to boost productivity, sustainability, and farmer incomes, critical for achieving the Viksit Bharat by 2047 vision.
The document, unveiled in Gandhinagar, proposes harnessing technologies such as Digital Twins, Precision Agriculture, Agentic AI, and Advanced Mechanisation.
A key feature of the roadmap is moving away from a single solution model by segmenting Indian farmers into three distinct types: Aspiring, Transitioning, and Advanced.
NITI Aayog CEO Shri B.V.R. Subrahmanyam emphasized this need for customization: “No two farmers in India are the same, and technology must reflect that diversity… If we design with empathy and deploy with precision, technology can truly transform livelihoods.”
Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel highlighted the state’s existing digital efforts like the Digital Crop Survey, stating, “Digital integration is not just about improving efficiency; it is empowering our farmers.”
The roadmap, developed in collaboration with partners including BCG, Google, and CII, stresses that the next agricultural revolution will be measured in “data, intelligence, and design,” urging rapid transformation.
