Bilateral Ties Reflect ‘Strength and Warmth’ as India, Japan Discuss Global Situation and Indo-Pacific
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar today held a key meeting with his Japanese counterpart, Motegi Toshimitsu, on the sidelines of the ASEAN Summit in Malaysia. The high-level interaction focused on strengthening the bilateral relationship and strategizing for future collaboration.
In a social media post following the meeting, Dr. Jaishankar confirmed that the two leaders engaged in productive discussions regarding the bilateral ties between India and Japan. A significant outcome of the meeting was the mutual agreement to work closely on implementing the joint vision for the next decade of cooperation between the two nations.
The dialogue extended beyond bilateral matters, as the ministers also exchanged perspectives on the global situation and the critical issue of Indo-Pacific cooperation.
Dr. Jaishankar emphasized that the tenor of the conversation clearly reflected the “strength and warmth” of the Special Strategic and Global Partnership shared by India and Japan, underscoring the deep mutual trust and shared interests between the two major Asian powers.
