Twelve Wagons Derail Near Mathura, Disrupting Key Agra-Delhi Route
Mathura: Rail traffic on the crucial Agra-Delhi route has been significantly disrupted following the derailment of 12 wagons of a goods train late yesterday evening.
The accident occurred between Vrindavan and Ajhai railway stations, within the Jaint area of Mathura district. The extensive derailment has blocked the main line, impacting the movement of passenger and freight services.
Railway officials immediately rushed to the site to assess the damage and initiate remedial measures. According to official statements, several trains have already been diverted onto alternate routes to minimize inconvenience to passengers.
Restoration work on the affected track began immediately and is reported to be continuing on a war footing. Officials indicated that teams are working round-the-clock to clear the wreckage and repair the damaged track segments to resume normal operations as quickly as possible.
The disruption underscores the vulnerability of key rail corridors to such incidents, with passengers on the busy Agra-Delhi section advised to check train schedules and expect potential delays or changes in routing until the line is fully cleared and certified for high-speed traffic.
