New Delhi – Russia has praised India’s growing influence on the world stage, hailing it as a global and leading economic power with a diversified foreign policy. The statement was made by Russian Charge d’Affaires in India, Roman Babushkin, during a press briefing in New Delhi.
Babushkin emphasized the strong and uninterrupted nature of the bilateral relationship, highlighting that both countries share mutual interests and consistently find ways to cooperate. He also confirmed that ongoing high-level engagements, including External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar’s current visit to Moscow, are setting the groundwork for an upcoming visit by Russian President Vladimir Putin to India later this year.
This visit, which will be the first since the start of the conflict in Ukraine in 2022, underscores the continued strength of the India-Russia Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership. The two nations’ leaders have been in close contact, including two recent phone calls focused on the situation in Ukraine. (ATP)
