Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi Arrives in New Delhi for Official Visit

NEW DELHI – Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has arrived in New Delhi for an official two-day visit, as confirmed by Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal on social media. The visit marks a significant high-level diplomatic engagement between the two countries.

The visit is packed with important meetings, including the 24th round of the Special Representatives’ Talks on the India-China boundary question with India’s National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval. These talks are a crucial mechanism for addressing the long-standing border dispute and maintaining peace and tranquility along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), reports said.

In addition to the border talks, Wang Yi will also hold a bilateral meeting with External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar. This meeting is expected to cover a wide range of issues, including trade, cultural exchanges, and other matters of mutual interest.

This visit comes ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s planned trip to China to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit. The discussions are seen as an effort to lay the groundwork for a more stable relationship and to finalize the agenda for a potential bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the summit.
