New Dlehi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today highlighted the government’s commitment to public health and the agricultural sector by sharing two key articles on his social media. The articles, penned by Union Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda and Rajya Sabha MP Satnam Singh Sandhu, underscore the government’s initiatives to address critical issues facing the nation.
In a post on his social media handle, PM Modi shared an article by Union Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda, focusing on the National Sickle Cell Anaemia Elimination Mission. The Prime Minister stated that this landmark initiative, which aims to make India a Sickle Cell Disease-free nation by 2047, marks a “new era in public health” by ensuring equity, dignity, and tackling a genetic disorder.
The mission, launched in July 2023, is a comprehensive effort to combat the genetic blood disorder, particularly in tribal and high-prevalence areas. It focuses on universal population-based screening, prevention, and management, with the goal of screening approximately 7 crore people under 40 years of age by 2026.
In a separate post, PM Modi also shared an article by Rajya Sabha MP Satnam Singh Sandhu, which details the government’s “farmer-first approach.” The Prime Minister said that the article highlights a range of government measures designed to support Indian farmers. These initiatives include crop insurance, the distribution of soil health cards, direct benefit transfers, and modern irrigation systems. According to PM Modi, these efforts are strengthening livelihoods, enhancing productivity, and building resilience in India’s agricultural sector.
The initiatives mentioned in Sandhu’s article, such as the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN), Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), and the promotion of micro-irrigation, are part of the government’s broader strategy to modernize agriculture and secure the financial.
