BSF Fortifies Western Command with Advanced Anti-Tunnelling Tech and Anti-Drone Measures
Mohali (ATP): The Border Security Force (BSF) has initiated the deployment of an advanced anti-tunnelling system along the Punjab and Jammu border areas to combat the threat of weapons and drug smuggling, and to foil infiltration by terrorists from Pakistan.
According to reports, The new system is designed to provide timely alerts of any subterranean activity, disclosed ADG, BSF (Western Command), Satish S Khandare, during a press conference held today as part of the force’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
Highlighting the BSF’s operational achievements, Mr. Khandare noted the pivotal role the force played in ‘Operation Sindoor’ by retaliating against Pakistani aggression, defending border posts, and destroying enemy infrastructure. The BSF has also significantly countered Pakistani drone threats, deploying anti-drone systems to detect, jam, and neutralize intruding platforms.
This year, the BSF’s intensified efforts along the Western Border have resulted in the apprehension of 53 Pakistani intruders/smugglers. In recognition of their bravery, BSF personnel have been conferred with 2 Vir Chakras and 816 Gallantry Medals. The deployment of this advanced technology marks a significant enhancement to the force’s border security and anti-infiltration grid.
