India’s Space Sector Now ‘Attractive Destination for Global Investors’: PM Modi at Skyroot Inauguration
New Delhi/Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated Skyroot Aerospace’s Infinity Campus through video conference, asserting that India’s space sector is rapidly becoming an attractive destination for global investors.
Mr. Modi highlighted the historic reforms undertaken by the government to open the space sector for private innovation, enabling startups and industry to work closely with the country’s scientific ecosystem. He emphasized that the global space economy is poised for manifold growth in the coming years, which will create tremendous new opportunities for India’s youth.
The Prime Minister stated that over the last six to seven years, India has successfully transformed its space sector into an open, cooperative, and innovation-driven ecosystem, which is now home to over 300 space startups.
Mr. Modi lauded Skyroot’s new facility, saying, “Skyroot’s Infinity campus is the reflection of India’s new thinking, innovation and youth power.” He added that the country is reaching new heights through its innovation, risk-taking ability, youth power, and entrepreneurship. The Prime Minister also acknowledged the crucial, decades-long role of ISRO in powering India’s space journey and carving out a distinct global identity based on its credibility and capacity.
