THIMPHU, Bhutan (ATP): Union Minister Kiren Rijiju today met with the Prime Minister of Bhutan, Tshering Tobgay, shortly after arriving in the Himalayan kingdom.
In a social media post following the meeting, Minister Rijiju stated that their discussion reflected the “depth of India-Bhutan friendship and the values that both countries uphold.” He added that Bhutan’s deep reverence for the Holy Buddha Relics continues to inspire harmony and connection between the people of the two countries.
Minister Rijiju is leading a delegation for the return of the Sacred Relics of Lord Buddha to India. The relics were brought to Bhutan for a public exposition, where they were enshrined at the Grand Kuenrey Hall in Tashichhodzong as a special gesture for the Global Peace Prayer Festival organized by Bhutan. The visit further highlights the strong spiritual and civilisational bonds shared by the two nations.
