Pre-Budget Talks Continue: FM Meets Infrastructure, Energy, and Urban Leaders
New Delhi (ATP) – Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today chaired the 12th Pre-Budget Consultation with experts and stakeholders from the Urbanisation sector in New Delhi. The high-level meeting was held as part of the preparations for the forthcoming Union Budget 2026-27.
Key attendees included the Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, the Chief Economic Adviser to the Government of India, and senior officials from the Finance Ministry.
The consultation process is part of the Finance Ministry’s annual exercise to gather diverse perspectives ahead of drafting the Union Budget. These deliberations are crucial for ensuring the budget reflects key economic priorities and addresses the concerns of various sectors.
Earlier in the day, the Finance Minister had concluded the 11th Pre-Budget Consultation, which focused on input from experts representing the Infrastructure and Energy Sectors. The series of meetings, involving industry leaders, economists, and state officials, aims to create a comprehensive and inclusive Union Budget.
