Modi Unveils Vajpayee Statue, Launches Projects Worth Over ₹14,000 Crore on State’s Silver Jubilee
NAVA RAIPUR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the new building of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly in Nava Raipur during his one-day visit to the state. Marking the momentous occasion, the Prime Minister also unveiled the statue of former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Addressing the gathering, PM Modi said the entire nation is moving forward by preserving its heritage while pursuing development, a spirit clearly reflected in the new Assembly building, which mirrors the state’s rich cultural heritage. He hailed the new structure as a “pillar of democracy,” stating that the decisions taken within will guide Chhattisgarh’s destiny for decades.
The day-long visit coincided with the state’s Silver Jubilee celebrations, marking twenty-five years since its formation. During the events, the Prime Minister is set to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for development projects worth over fourteen thousand crore rupees in key sectors, including roads, industry, healthcare, and energy.
Earlier in Nava Raipur, Mr. Modi inaugurated the Shanti Shikhar of the Brahma Kumaris, a modern centre for spiritual learning, peace, and meditation. He stressed that the development of the nation is linked to the development of its states, a mantra guiding the government’s commitment to making India a developed nation.
In a poignant moment, the Prime Minister visited the Shri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital, where he interacted with approximately two-and-a-half thousand children under the “Dil Ki Baat” programme. These children, who had received free and successful treatment for congenital heart diseases at the hospital, were presented with “Gift of Life” certificates by the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister’s schedule also includes the inauguration and visit to the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Memorial and the Tribal Freedom Fighters’ Museum in Nava Raipur.
