Turkey Hosts Key Gaza Talks with Arab and Muslim Nations on Monday
ISTANBUL, Turkey: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced on Friday that Turkey will host a meeting of Arab and Muslim foreign ministers in Istanbul on Monday, November 3, to advance discussions on the American-backed peace plan for Gaza.
Fidan informed reporters that the gathering would include the foreign ministers of the countries that previously met with U.S. President Donald Trump in New York last September on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. The meeting aims “to assess our progress and discuss what we can achieve together in the next phase,” Fidan said.
The minister emphasized that the Istanbul talks will focus on the next steps in the peace process and will address potential obstacles and challenges to the plan’s implementation.
Fidan also noted that discussions are underway regarding the potential formation of a task force specifically for Gaza and a separate force for stabilizing the sector, signaling a move toward concrete action following the diplomatic groundwork laid in New York. The US-led peace plan is part of ongoing international efforts to achieve a lasting resolution to the conflict in Gaza.
