Operation Sindoor Briefing Highlights, as UAE Land Forces Chief Begins Key Two-Day Visit to Deepen Military Cooperation
NEW DELHI: Major General Yousef Maayouf Saeed Al Hallami, Commander of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Land Forces, arrived in New Delhi today for a two-day official visit aimed at significantly enhancing bilateral military cooperation between the two nations. The high-level visit underscores the continuous efforts by both countries to strengthen and deepen their longstanding defence partnership, particularly in the areas of training and capability enhancement.
Upon his arrival, Maj Gen Al Hallami was accorded a ceremonial welcome. His day’s agenda included a detailed briefing on the Indian Army’s recent strategic action, Operation Sindoor. He also received briefings from the Director General Information System and the Army Design Bureau, focusing on India’s comprehensive defence capabilities and the Indian Army’s strategic roadmap for integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The Commander’s itinerary for tomorrow, October 28, 2025, is packed with key engagements. He will pay homage to India’s fallen soldiers by laying a wreath at the National War Memorial. Subsequently, he will visit the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for a detailed briefing on various indigenous weapon and equipment platforms. A crucial interaction is also scheduled with Dr. Samir V. Kamat, Secretary, Department of Defence R&D and Chairman of DRDO. Furthermore, Maj Gen Al Hallami will engage with representatives of the Indian Defence Industries to explore issues of mutual interest and potential collaboration.
The visit of the Commander of the UAE Land Forces marks an important milestone, poised to solidify already robust defence ties and pave the way for a stronger, future-ready partnership in military engagement and regional security cooperation.
