MEA Secretary Kumaran and US Assistant Secretary Kapur Discuss India-US Relations
KUALA LUMPUR: The strong diplomatic engagement between India and the United States continued today as Minister of External Affairs (MEA) Secretary (East) P. Kumaran met with US Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, S. Paul Kapur, in Kuala Lumpur.
The meeting, held in the Malaysian capital, focused on strengthening the strategic partnership between the two nations, with both officials exchanging views on the broad spectrum of India-US relations.
Secretary Kumaran also extended his congratulations to Mr. Kapur on his recent appointment as the US Assistant Secretary, marking one of the first high-level in-person interactions between the Indian side and the newly appointed US official responsible for the region.
The discussions come amidst a period of heightened diplomatic activity in Southeast Asia, underscoring the ongoing priority both New Delhi and Washington place on their bilateral and regional cooperation.
