Major Victory in Kanker as 13 Senior Cadres Lay Down Arms at Government’s Call

In a post shared on the ‘X’ platform, the Home Minister highlighted the importance of the surrender, noting that a majority of the individuals were key figures in the organization.

“Glad to share that 21 Maoists have surrendered along with their arms in Kanker district, Chhattisgarh. Out of them, 13 were senior cadres,” Shri Shah stated.

The Union Minister commended the former insurgents for choosing to abandon violence and join the national mainstream, attributing the decision to the outreach of the Central Government.

“I commend them for joining the mainstream, abjuring violence at the call of the Modi government,” the post read. Following the successful surrender, Shah issued a renewed and firm appeal to all remaining individuals still engaged in the insurgency: “I reiterate my appeal to the rest who are still wielding guns to surrender at the earliest.”

Amit Shah concluded his message by reaffirming the government’s unwavering resolve to completely root out the Naxal threat from the country.

He declared, “We are resolved to eradicate Naxalism by 31st March 2026.”

The mass surrender of 21 armed Maoists, including 13 senior cadres, is being viewed as a significant step forward in the security forces’ and the government’s strategy to integrate Naxal-affected populations back into the country’s social and economic fabric.
