Cloud Seeding Planned Between October 28 and 30 to Curb Capital’s Smog
NEW DELHI : The National Capital is set to witness its first-ever attempt at inducing Artificial Rain through cloud seeding between October 28 and 30 of this month, a major technological initiative aimed at mitigating severe air pollution.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that preparations to induce the artificial rain have been successfully completed, calling it a significant technological milestone in the capital’s ongoing fight against the pollution crisis.Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa confirmed the operational readiness for the project. He stated that all necessary systems, including specialized aircraft, as well as meteorological and environmental monitoring infrastructure, are fully in place for the cloud seeding operation.
The move marks a proactive step by the Delhi government to employ advanced technology to curb the city’s rising air pollution levels, which typically peak during this season. -( ATP)
