PM Modi Launches ‘Pratibha Setu Portal’ to Redirect UPSC Talent for Nation-Building
NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed the Rozgar Mela via videoconferencing, announcing a major initiative—the ‘Pratibha Setu Portal’—aimed at ensuring the talent of unselected UPSC candidates is redirected towards national development.
“The Pratibha Setu Portal ensures UPSC talent is not lost—it’s redirected to nation-building,” the Prime Minister stated. He explained that candidates who reached the final list of the UPSC exam but were not selected will now find opportunities through this portal, which connects them with private and public institutions. Modi that this is an “optimal utilization of youth talent” that will showcase India’s youth potential globally.
The Prime Minister began his address by noting that this year’s Diwali has brought “new illumination” into people’s lives, with receiving appointment letters for permanent jobs adding a “double dose of joy.”
Over 51,000 youth across the country received appointment letters today. Modi congratulated the new appointees and their families, stressing that these are not merely government jobs but opportunities to actively contribute to nation-building. He expressed confidence that the young karmayogis will work with integrity and sincerity.
The Prime Minister appealed to the new appointees to uphold the spirit of service and dedication, remembering the mantra of ‘Nagarik Devo Bhava’ (The Citizen is God).
Highlighting that the nation has been working towards a Developed India for the past 11 years, the Prime Minister emphasized that the youth will play the most pivotal role in this journey.
He noted that Rozgar Melas have become a powerful medium, having issued over 11 lakh appointment letters in recent times. Beyond government jobs, the government has launched the ‘PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana’ with a target to provide employment to 3.5 crore youth. Additionally, the Prime Minister highlighted the effectiveness of initiatives like the Skill India Mission and the National Career Service platform, which has already shared information on more than 7 crore vacancies.
Modi linked recent economic reforms to job creation, noting the GST Bachat Utsav and significant rate reductions. He stated that these next-generation GST reforms are expanding employment, as cheaper everyday goods increase demand, accelerate production and supply chains, and lead to new job creation in sectors like manufacturing, logistics, and retail trade.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister asserted that India’s foreign policy is increasingly being shaped with the interests of young Indians in mind. He cited diplomatic engagements and global MoUs with nations like the UK, European countries, Brazil, Singapore, Korea, and Canada, which include provisions for youth training, upskilling, and employment generation in high-demand fields like AI, fintech, and clean energy.
In conclusion, Modi told the new appointees that they will lead the nation’s resolve to build a Developed India, encouraging them to utilize the ‘i-Got Karmayogi Bharat Platform’ to instill a new work culture and a spirit of good governance.
