Dedicates Critical Titanium & Superalloy Plant in Lucknow for ‘Technological Sovereignty’

Milestone for Aatmanirbhar Bharat: New PTC Industries Complex to Manufacture Rare Defence Materials

Lucknow: Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh today dedicated a Titanium and Superalloy Materials Plant to the nation at PTC Industries’ Strategic Materials Technology Complex in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

In his address, Singh stressed that India must produce rare materials used in defence, aerospace, and electronics to become a technology creator and safeguard its technological sovereignty. He highlighted that the new plant, one of the first private-sector units to manufacture aero-engine and superalloy components, places India among a select group of nations capable of producing critical defence and aerospace materials.

“While technology is power, material is the real strength,” the Raksha Mantri stated, adding that this facility is a living example of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and will enable the domestic manufacture of parts for fighter jets, missiles, naval systems, and satellites.

The complex, spread over 50 acres with an investment of ₹1,000 crore, has a production capacity of over 6,000 tonnes per annum of aviation-grade Titanium and Superalloys, marking a decisive move towards strategic materials independence.

In a related development, PTC Industries and Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) signed an MoU to form a joint venture for the design, development, and manufacture of propulsion systems, guided bombs, and small aeroengines for missiles and UAVs.

Additionally, PTC Industries received a Letter of Technical Acceptance (LoTA) from DRDO’s CEMILAC for the indigenous manufacture of Titanium Rear Fin Root Casting for the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) program, further bolstering India’s next-generation fighter aircraft capabilities. The launch of the complex is expected to create significant job opportunities within the UP Defence Industrial Corridor.
