New Delhi — Prime Minister Narendra Modi today met with Cristiano R. Amon, President and CEO of chipmaking giant Qualcomm, for an enriching discussion focused on strengthening the technological partnership between India and the US-based company.
The high-level meeting centered on India’s significant advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI), innovation, and skilling, according to a release from PIB Delhi.
Prime Minister Modi conveyed his appreciation for Qualcomm’s strong commitment to India’s key national technology initiatives: the India Semiconductor Mission and the IndiaAI Mission. He emphasized that India possesses “unmatched talent and scale” to build technologies that will define the collective future.
Amon reciprocated the sentiment, thanking the Prime Minister for the discussion and reaffirming Qualcomm’s intent to deepen the partnership. A major point of discussion was the development of an Indian ecosystem for cutting-edge technologies, including the country’s transition to 6G mobile technology.
The Qualcomm CEO highlighted specific areas for collaboration, including the development of an Indian ecosystem across various sectors such as: AI smartphones, PCs, Smart glasses, Automotive, Industrial sectors.
Following the meeting, Prime Minister Modi shared his reflections on X (formerly Twitter), stating: “It was a wonderful meeting with Mr. Cristiano R.
