NEW DELHI – In a move highlighting the growing importance of food safety on a global scale, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, J.P. Nadda, today unveiled the logo and brochures for the Global Food Regulators Summit (GFRS) 2025. The summit, organized by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), will take place from September 26 to 27 at Bharat Mandapam, running concurrently with the World Food India 2025 event.

The theme for this year’s GFRS is “Evolving Food Systems- Yatha Annam Tatha Manah,” an ancient Sanskrit phrase meaning “As is the food, so is the mind.” In his keynote address, Minister Nadda emphasized the profound connection between the quality of food and the health of both the individual and society.

“Food is not merely nourishment, it is a force that shapes physical well-being, mental health, emotional balance, and societal harmony,” he said, calling for a “multi-dimensionary approach” to ensure the food consumed is safe and healthy.

Summit to Foster Global Dialogue and Innovation

The GFRS 2025 is designed to serve as a crucial platform for international regulators to share knowledge, harmonize food safety standards, and strengthen risk assessment capabilities. The summit will feature a diverse range of activities, including sessions with international organizations such as the WHO, Codex, and FAO, as well as bilateral meetings to address global food safety challenges.

One of the key initiatives to be unveiled at the summit is the “Eat Right Thali” book. This publication by FSSAI celebrates India’s rich and diverse culinary heritage by showcasing traditional thalis from every state. The book is intended to serve as a guide for preventive health, promoting balanced, indigenous diets as a tool to combat rising obesity and lifestyle diseases. This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of using traditional diets for public health.

The summit’s architecture is structured around eight interconnected plenary sessions and high-level parallel conclaves, focusing on forward-looking aspects of food safety regulation. This third consecutive GFRS hosted by FSSAI reinforces India’s position as a leader in global food safety initiatives and regulatory dialogue.
