CM Unveils His Govt’s 10-Month Progress Report Before People

Kolkata: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday attended the Combined Commanders’ Conference (CCC 2025) at the Eastern Command Headquarters of the Indian Army in Kolkata. In a key address, he praised the armed forces for their courage in “Operation Sindoor” and their significant contributions to nation-building.

The conference, an apex-level brainstorming forum held once every two years, brings together India’s top civilian and military leadership to discuss strategic issues and shape the future of the country’s military preparedness. The theme for this year’s event is ‘Year of Reforms – Transformation for the Future’, which reflects the government’s focus on modernizing and integrating the armed forces.

During the conference, the Prime Minister unveiled the “Indian Armed Forces Vision 2047” document, a roadmap for creating a “future-ready armed force.” The document outlines a comprehensive strategy for achieving greater jointness, self-reliance (Atmanirbharta), and innovation to meet future security challenges. The vision is aligned with the broader national goal of achieving a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India) by 2047, the centenary of India’s independence.

Also present at the event were Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan. The leaders engaged in discussions on a wide range of strategic issues, including force modernization, jointness, and enhancing operational readiness for multi-domain warfare.

Prime Minister Modi’s commendation for “Operation Sindoor” comes after the punitive and targeted campaign was launched in May in response to a terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians. The operation, a coordinated tri-services response, targeted and dismantled terror infrastructure across the Line of Control. The success of the operation, which relied on advanced indigenous technologies and seamless inter-service cooperation, was highlighted as a testament to the armed forces’ professionalism and resolve.

The three-day conference will continue to review various structural, administrative, and operational matters, with a focus on preparing the armed forces for an increasingly complex global geopolitical landscape.
