NEW DELHI — Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly radio program, “Mann ki Baat,” has generated a revenue of over ₹34.13 crore since its inception, the government informed the Rajya Sabha today.

According to Dr. L Murugan, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, the program is produced by Akashvani (All India Radio) using existing resources and without additional expenditure. The revenue highlights the program’s significant reach and public engagement.

“Mann ki Baat” serves as a platform for the Prime Minister to showcase inspiring stories and grassroots achievements from across the country. It covers a wide range of topics, including education, health, environment, and social service, and aims to foster a sense of collective participation in nation-building.

The program’s success is attributed to its multi-platform approach, which includes both traditional and digital media:

Radio and TV: It is broadcast live on Akashvani’s national and regional networks and telecast on Doordarshan channels. Regional language versions ensure a broad reach.

Digital Platforms: The program has seen a significant expansion in its digital audience. It is live-streamed on YouTube channels, Prasar Bharati’s OTT platform WAVES, and the “NewsOnAIR” mobile app. The program is also widely shared on social media platforms like Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and Instagram.

Citizens can actively participate by submitting suggestions and voice messages for the program via the MyGov portal, fostering a two-way dialogue between the Prime Minister and the public. In rural areas and institutional settings, collective listening and viewing sessions are often organized to encourage community discussion and civic awareness.
