During the programme, participants were sensitized about the key objectives and provisions of the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar & Ajeevika Mission (Grameen), with special emphasis on the enhanced guarantee of 125 days of wage employment, timely payment of wages, compensation in case of delays, and strengthened provisions for unemployment allowance.

While addressing the gathering, the Assistant Commissioner Development, Bandipora stressed the importance of active community participation in the planning and implementation of rural development schemes. He highlighted that the VB–GRAMG Act aims to strengthen livelihood security, promote transparency, and empower rural households through guaranteed employment and effective convergence of schemes at the Panchayat level.

Officials present on the occasion elaborated on various components of the scheme through IEC materials, pamphlets, posters, and interactive discussions.

The participants were informed about the crucial role of Gram Panchayats in planning, execution, monitoring of works, and grievance redressal mechanisms. They were encouraged to actively participate in Gram Sabhas to ensure that local needs and priorities are duly reflected in development plans.

The IEC programme concluded with an interactive question and answer session, during which participants raised queries related to different aspects of the VB–GRAMG Act. The queries were satisfactorily addressed by the Assistant Commissioner Development, Bandipora.

The event marked an important step towards spreading awareness about the Viksit Bharat vision and reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to guaranteed employment, livelihood security, and grassroots empowerment in the rural areas of District Bandipora.
