DC Srinagar inaugurates 7-Day Capacity Building Program for AYUSH Medical Officers at Govt Unani Hospital, Shalteng

Srinagar: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo on Monday inaugurated a seven-day Capacity Building Training Programme on Clinical Skill Enhancement for AYUSH Doctors, Paramedical Staff and Data Operators of the Kashmir division under National Ayush Mission at the Auditorium of Government Unani Hospital, Shalteng.
The programme is aimed to enhance clinical skills, practical knowledge and professional competence of AYUSH professionals for improved healthcare delivery.
Among others , the inaugural session of the Training programme was attended by Sub Divisional Magistrate Srinagar West, Irfan Bahadur; Chief Medical Officer, Dr Tahir Sajad; Medical Superintendent GUHS, Dr. Mohammad Sultan Parray; District Ayush Officer, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Payar; Assistant Director Ayush, and Divisional Nodal Officer AAM, Kashmir
Speaking on the occasion, the DC emphasized the importance of continuous professional development for healthcare workers, especially in the AYUSH sector to ensure quality and accessible healthcare services for the public. He highlighted that such training initiatives play a vital role in upgrading skills, improving data management, and aligning healthcare delivery with current standards.
The DC appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of continuous professional development of healthcare professionals aimed to strengthen clinical competencies, improve service delivery and enhance the overall effectiveness of AYUSH healthcare services at the grassroots level. He added that the week-long programme being conducted under the aegis of the AYUSH Department and is expected to significantly contribute to capacity building, professional excellence, and improved healthcare outcomes in the region.

Earlier, Medical Superintendent Government Unani Hospital Shalteng, informed that the training programme has been designed to provide an updated clinical perspective by engaging resource persons from both Unani and Allopathic systems of medicine, thereby encouraging cross-disciplinary learning and holistic patient care. He added that the sessions would focus on the management of lifestyle and metabolic disorders, rational use of medicines, recent clinical advancements, and best practices in hospital-based patient care.
