Baramulla : The Good Governance Week, being observed from 19th to 25th December, is being marked across Baramulla district with a series of programmes and activities aimed at strengthening transparent, accountable, and citizen-centric governance.
The main aim of observing Good Governance Week is to improve public service delivery, ensure effective grievance redressal, enhance awareness about government schemes, and bring the administration closer to the people, particularly at the grassroots level.
As part of the week-long programme, the District Administration Baramulla organized grievance redressal camps, service delivery camps, and awareness programmes at district, sub-division, tehsil, and block levels. These initiatives are focused on providing prompt and hassle-free access to government services while addressing public issues in a time-bound manner.
During the grievance redressal camps, numerous grievances were received from the public, many of which were resolved on the spot, while others were forwarded to the concerned departments for early disposal. Service delivery camps facilitated issuance of various certificates, approvals, and benefits related to revenue, social welfare, and other line departments, thereby ensuring ease of access and improved service delivery.
Awareness camps were also conducted to inform citizens about various government schemes, welfare programmes, and their rights and entitlements. Officials interacted directly with the public, providing guidance and clarifications to promote greater awareness and participation.
The activities under Good Governance Week witnessed active participation from officers, officials, students, and the general public, reflecting the administration’s commitment to responsive, transparent, and people-friendly governance.
The District Administration Baramulla reiterated its resolve to carry forward the spirit of Good Governance Week beyond the stipulated period by continuously strengthening service delivery mechanisms, grievance redressal systems, and public outreach initiatives.
