KISHTWAR: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar, Pankaj Kumar Sharma today chaired a meeting of line departments and other stakeholders to discuss the arrangements for the Republic Day 2026 celebration.
It was informed that the main function would be held either on Chowgan grounds or Mini Secretariat DC Office Complex, subject to the weather conditions, while similar celebrations would be held at the Sub-Division, Block and Tehsil levels.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the district heads to ensure presence of subordinate officers and officials at the Republic Day functions at the district headquarters, as well as at the Sub-Division, Tehsil and Block levels.
Arrangements for flag unfurling, march-past, cultural programmes, seating, stage setup, venue preparation were discussed in detail.
It was also informed that the day would commence with the playing of Shehnai Vadan. Additionally, the Police authorities were directed to ensure foolproof security arrangements.
Concerned departments were instructed to make adequate provisions for drinking water, power supply, medical facilities, sanitation, transport, traffic regulation, illumination of government buildings, deployment of fire tenders, seating arrangements and the distribution of invitations.
The Deputy Commissioner assigned specific responsibilities to different departments and constituted several committees to monitor the arrangements.
Senior officers of the civil and police administration, along with other stakeholders, provided valuable suggestions to ensure the Republic Day celebration a grand success in the district.
The meeting was attended by ADC, Pawan Kotwal; ASP Pardeep Singh; PO ICDS, Dr. Rishi Kumar Sharma; ACR Idrees Lone; SDM Paddar Dr Amit Kumar, SDM Marwah Dr. Mohd Ashraf; SDM Chatroo Nayeem Ur Rehman, ACD Manoj Kumar; CEO Municipal Council Mirza Mumtaz Iqbal and other district officers along with officers of CRPF/CISF and representatives of various departments, educational institutions and power projects.
