PULWAMA: The 4th National Lok-Adalat was organized today in District Court and other sub-ordinate courts of District Pulwama under the Chairmanship of Malik Shabir Ahmad, Chairman District Legal Services Authority (Pr. District & Sessions Judge), Pulwama and under the supervision of Mudasar Farooq, Secretary DLSA Pulwama.
The Lok-Adalat at District headquarters Pulwama was inaugurated by PD&SJ Pulwama and was attended by Judicial Officers of District Pulwama.
By the concerted efforts of all presiding officers of all the courts, cooperation rendered by the learned advocates and officers of various government departments, insurance companies and banking institutions, a total number of 1934 cases were taken up by 6 benches in the district out of which 1394 cases were settled in the Lok-Adalat.
An amount of Rs, 2,49,67,207 was awarded as settlement amount in all cases including award of Rs. 30,15,000 in 12 MACT Cases.
