Kupwara : Vice Chairperson (VC) District Development Council (DDC) Kupwara, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir, Thursday conducted an extensive inspection of multiple Water Supply Schemes (WSS) in Wavoora territorial constituency.
The visit was aimed at reviewing the progress on ground and addressing the causes behind delays in the completion of the crucial JJM projects.
The Vice Chairperson was accompanied by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kupwara, Mufti Fareed ud Din; BDO Wavoora, Executive Engineer Jal Shakti, AEE Jal Shakti, AEE Mechanical and other concerned officials.
During the field visit, the inspection team assessed the status of WSS Khan Batoo Maidanpora, WSS Bun Maidanpora, and WSS Krusan.
Officials briefed the Vice Chairperson that a substantial portion of civil works on these schemes has already been completed. However, certain mechanical components remain pending primarily due to shortage of funds.
Expressing satisfaction over the progress achieved so far, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir stressed the importance of ensuring that no scheme is left incomplete due to administrative or financial impediments. He reaffirmed his commitment to facilitating a smooth and timely completion of all JJM projects in the district.
He further assured the officers that he would personally take up the matter of pending funds and related issues with higher authorities to ensure their prompt resolution.
The VC urged the executing agencies to maintain momentum and work in mission mode to achieve the targets within the stipulated timeframe.
