DC asks for achieving 70% expenditure on nine major projects by Dec end
Poonch: District Development Commissioner Poonch Ashok Kumar Sharma Tuesday chaired a review meeting to assess the physical and financial progress of developmental projects being executed under Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) Phase I and III in the district.
At the outset, Chief Planning Officer, Shamoon Ahmed briefed the chair about the status of the ongoing works, including the construction of roads, span bridges, motor-able bridges, ST hostel, residential accommodations and the new OPD Block at District Hospital, among other key infrastructure projects across the district.
The DDC instructed the concerned executive engineers to accelerate the pace of allotted works and ensure their timely completion on a fast-track modezs. He emphasized strict adherence to quality standards and optimal utilization of available funds.
The DDC asked the executing agencies to ensure 70 percent expenditure on all nine major projects by December 31, 2025, while underscoring the importance of maintaining momentum in developmental activities. He further urged the stakeholder departments to work in close coordination to achieve set targets and ensure visible progress on the ground for the benefit of the public.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Tahir Mustafa Malik; SE PWD, Kewal Kumar; Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Parvaiz Ahmed Khan along with Executive Engineers from PWD Poonch, Surankote and Mendhar besides other concerned officers.
