DLSA Srinagar holds first meeting of Distt Monitoring Committee

Srinagar : District Legal Services Authority Srinagar convened the first meeting of the District Monitoring Committee under the guidance of Haq Nawaz Zargar, Principal District and Sessions Judge, (Chairman DLSA) Srinagar.
The meeting was convened by the Secretary DLSA Srinagar Monday at the ADR Centre, District Court Complex, Mominabad Srinagar in compliance with the directions of Supreme Court of India issued in WP (Crl) No. 295/2012 titled Rajaseekaran vs Union of India & Ors.
The meeting was attended by DySP Headquarters, Syed Sleet Shah as member of the committee and Naib Tehsildar, Aijaz Ahmad Bhat.
The Committee reviewed the framework laid down by the Supreme Court, discussed the district-level mechanism for processing claims, and examined the preliminary status of cases requiring action.
Deliberations focused on establishing coordinated procedures among concerned departments, ensuring timely verification and documentation, and strengthening facilitation for victims to streamline claim submission and processing.
The meeting concluded with key decisions aimed at creating an efficient monitoring structure, reducing procedural delays, and ensuring strict compliance with the mandate issued by the Hon’ble Supreme Court.
