District-Level IHIP & Outbreak Management Training Programme concludes at Shopian

Shopian: A district-level Integrated Health Information Platform (IHIP) and Outbreak Management Training Programme was Saturday conducted by the District Surveillance Unit Shopian in coordination with the State Surveillance Office (SSO) Kashmir.

The programme aimed at enhancing real-time digital reporting and strengthening disease surveillance mechanisms across the district.

The training programme was inaugurated by CMO Shopian, Dr. Arshad Hussain Tak, who underscored the critical importance of accurate, timely and coordinated reporting for effective public health action. He highlighted that digital surveillance under IHIP has become an indispensable tool for early detection and rapid response to potential outbreaks.

CMO appreciated the efforts of the District Surveillance Unit and urged all participants to apply the training effectively to improve public health preparedness in Shopian.

State Training Consultant, Dr. Omar Aziz, delivered a detailed and informative session on the IHIP workflow, case-based reporting procedures and the system’s vital role in early outbreak identification.

State Data Manager, trained the participants on digital reporting protocols, data quality improvement and optimal utilization of the IHIP portal. He stressed the need for standardized reporting to ensure accuracy at all levels of the health system.

Microbiologist, DPHL, highlighted the role of laboratory services in disease confirmation, quality assurance and timely outbreak investigation, emphasizing coordinated laboratory-field reporting for effective surveillance.

During the training programme officers reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening digital surveillance, ensuring timely data flow and enhancing rapid response mechanisms across the district.
