Decade-Long Career Concludes for Haryana Cricketer and IPL Veteran
NEW DELHI: India pacer Mohit Sharma has announced his retirement from all formats of cricket, concluding a professional career spanning over a decade that included 34 international appearances and a distinguished tenure in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The 37-year-old, who represented India in 26 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and eight T20 Internationals (T20Is), shared the news on his Instagram page.
“Today with a full heart, I announce my retirement from all forms of cricket,” Mohit wrote. “From representing Haryana to wearing the India jersey and playing in the IPL, this journey has been nothing short of blessing.”
Mohit, a prominent figure in India’s limited-overs setup during the mid-2010s, featured in three IPL finals but never lifted the trophy. He expressed profound gratitude to the organizations and individuals who supported his journey.
“A very special Thanku to the Haryana Cricket Association for being the backbone of my career. And my deepest gratitude to Anirudh Sir, whose constant guidance and belief in me shaped my path in ways words cannot express,” he added.
Mohit Sharma’s retirement marks the end of a resilient career defined by his medium-fast bowling and subtle variations.
