During the event, senior officers addressed the gathering and elaborated on the objectives of Mission YUVA, which include encouraging entrepreneurship, fostering self-employment, and empowering youth through financial assistance and skill development.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom, while speaking on the occasion, emphasised the significance of Mission YUVA in realising the entrepreneurial aspirations of the youth. He encouraged the beneficiaries to fully utilise the opportunities provided under the scheme and contribute actively to the economic development of the district.

“All beneficiaries should act as ambassadors of the scheme within their communities and inspire others to take advantage of this opportunity” said the DC.

He further assured the beneficiaries of continued administrative and institutional support in addressing any challenges they may face in accessing assistance under the scheme. He also appealed to the aspiring youth to make Mission YUVA a stepping stone towards sustainable self-employment.

While appreciating the coordinated efforts of the Employment Department and J&K Bank in processing and facilitating cases under the scheme, Dr. Qayoom instructed the concerned departments to ensure timely registration and onboarding of more youth under Mission YUVA and stressed the importance of expediting the disbursal of financial assistance in a hassle-free manner.

During the event, 53 sanction letters were distributed among the beneficiaries for setting up self-employment generating units under Mission YUVA.

Among others, the event was attended by Assistant Director Employment, Pulwama; Zonal Head, J&K Bank; Lead District Manager (LDM), Pulwama; Branch Heads of various bank branches; officials from the Employment Department; and a large number of beneficiaries and youth aspirants.

The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude towards the government for launching the Mission YUVA initiative which provides them financial assistance and handholding in establishing their own business ventures.
