Harsh Dubey’s Unbeaten Fifty Powers India A to Victory in Doha

DOHA, QATAR: A balanced effort from India A’s bowling attack, followed by a composed, unbeaten half-century from Harsh Dubey, led the team to a six-wicket victory over Oman in the 10th match of the ACC Asia Cup Rising Stars Championship at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.

The crucial win ensured India A’s qualification for the tournament’s semi-finals, where they join Pakistan Shaheens. The knockout matches are scheduled to take place at the same venue on Friday.

Put in to bat first, Oman managed to reach 135/7 in their allotted 20 overs against a disciplined Indian bowling performance.

The innings was anchored by left-handed batter Wasim Ali, who top-scored for the Gulf nation with an unbeaten 54 off 45 deliveries (five fours, one six). Skipper Hammad Mirza provided a much-needed late acceleration with a quickfire 32 off 16 deliveries.

For India A, Suyash Sharma was the standout bowler, delivering an economical spell of 2/12 in his four overs. Gurjapneet Singh also claimed two wickets (2/37), while Vijaykumar Vyshak, Naman Dhir, and Harsh Dubey each contributed one scalp.

Chasing a modest 136-run target, India A successfully knocked off the runs with 13 balls to spare, finishing at 136/4.

The chase hit a slight snag early, with openers Priyansh Arya (10) and Vaibhav Suryavanshi (12) falling in quick succession, leaving the scoreboard at 37/2 in 4.2 overs. Stepping in at No. 4, Harsh Dubey took control, batting sensibly to guide his side home.

Dubey led the scoring with an unbeaten 53 off 44 deliveries (seven fours, one six), playing a pivotal role in key partnerships with Naman Dhir (30) and Nehal Wadhera (23).

Oman’s bowling effort saw Aryan Bisht, Samay Shrivastava, Shafiq Jan, and Jay Odedra each bag one wicket.
