Inaugurates “School-to-Every-Home” campaign by admitting a Child at His Doorstep

SRINAGAR: In a unique and symbolic gesture, the Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK),  Naseer Ahmad Wani, today formally inaugurates the already launched Divisional-Level Enrolment Drive 2025 from the Dal Lake by admitting a child right at his doorstep.

The campaign began at Mir Behri, Dal, where Director personally enrolled a student, marked the formal commencement of the “School-to-Every-Home” initiative, setting an example of how education must begin from the grassroots.

Accompanied by senior officers and education staff, the Director continued door-to-door enrolment in Bhat Mohalla, Mir Behri Dal, before joining a Mega Enrolment Programme at Educational Zone Nishat, where around 50 new students were admitted on the spot.

During the campaign, the Director instructed all Chief Education Officers of Kashmir Division (CEOs) to monitor daily enrolment progress through district control rooms and to submit evening reports to the Directorate for close supervision. He also directed Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) to review the learning progress of newly enrolled students every three months and to organize community interaction programmes involving parents, teachers, and local elders.

Calling upon teachers to intensify door-to-door awareness campaigns, the Director emphasized the importance of informing parents about government-provided benefits such as free textbooks, uniforms, and Mid-Day Meals.

While interacting with parents and community members, the Director highlighted that education is not just a right but a shared social responsibility. Residents from the Dal area lauded the Directorate’s outreach efforts, expressing appreciation for its initiative to connect directly with families living in remote and water-bound communities.

“Our mission is to reach every child, in every home, no matter how far or how isolated. Education must not wait for the child to come, it must travel to the child. Only then can we truly achieve 100% enrolment and 100% inclusion,” the Director emphasized.

Addressing the gathering at Zone Nishat, CEO Srinagar, Gh. Mohi-ud-Din Bhat, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing every possible educational facility and ensuring that no child is left out of school.

The event also featured students carrying placards promoting the importance of education and national development. A brief cultural programme presented by school children added colour and vibrancy to the drive.

The function witnessed enthusiastic participation from school heads, teachers, parents, community elders, and local leaders, symbolising a united effort to realise the vision of “Education for All.”
