Bye-elections to 27-AC Budgam: DEO Inspects various Polling Stations across 27-AC Budgam

BUDGAM: District Election Officer (DEO) Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat, today visited several polling stations across 27–Assembly Constituency Budgam to take firsthand assessment of the polling process during the ongoing Bye-Elections.

During the visit, the DEO inspected polling stations at Sheikhpora, Ompora, Main Budgam Town and various other locations to review the arrangements, voter turnout, and overall conduct of polling.

The DEO expressed satisfaction over the smooth and peaceful polling process and appreciated the efforts of polling personnel, security forces, and sectoral officers and zonal police officers in ensuring a well-coordinated and secure electoral exercise.

“Polling is going on smoothly across all polling stations in the constituency. We are committed to ensuring free, fair, transparent, and inclusive elections,” said the DEO.

He added that special efforts were made to encourage higher voter turnout through continuous voter awareness and facilitation measures.

He also interacted with voters, polling staff, and security personnel to take feedback regarding facilities and arrangements at the polling stations.

The District Election Officer commended the cooperation of citizens and urged all eligible voters to come forward and exercise their right to vote, strengthening the democratic fabric of the nation.

The DEO reiterated the district administration’s commitment to uphold the sanctity of the electoral process and ensure a comfortable and accessible voting experience for all, including women, senior citizens, and persons with special abilities.

Besides, ASP Budgam, Syed Sajjad Bukhari, other concerned officers also accompanied the DEO.
