Ramban: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan Thursday chaired a series of meetings in his office chamber to review the progress of key administrative and public welfare initiatives, including the meeting of District Level Screening-cum-Coordination Committee on Militancy-Related SRO-43 cases, status of Mandatory Biometric and generation of Digital Life Certificates (DLCs) for pensioners.

The meetings were attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Varunjeet Singh Charak; ACR Shokat Hayat Mattoo; Chief Medical Officer, Chief Education Officer, Cluster Head J&K Bank, Second-in-Command 84 BN CRPF, Second-in-Command 120 (TA), Dy.SP Headquarters, BDOs and officers from other concerned departments.

During the Screening-cum-Coordination Committee meeting, the DC reviewed SRO-43 cases pertaining to the next of kin of deceased persons. Several cases were cleared at the district level.

Reviewing the progress of Mandatory Biometric Authentication of Aadhaar being carried out under Samagra Shiksha, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Chief Education Officer to ensure 100% biometric coverage of students in all government and private schools across the district within the stipulated timeframe. He instructed officers to deploy adequate manpower and necessary equipment at the institutional level to facilitate smooth and error-free biometric authentication. The DC also called for close coordination between the Education Department and the UIDAI/Aadhaar authorities to address technical issues, if any, to ensure saturation of Aadhaar enrollment among students.

While reviewing the generation of Digital Life Certificates (DLCs) for pensioners, the DC directed the concerned officers to ensure early completion of the process to guarantee uninterrupted pension disbursement. He emphasized coordinated efforts among all departments for prompt service delivery and timely resolution of public issues, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to transparent and efficient governance.

The Deputy Commissioner also directed the J&K Bank authorities to coordinate district-level training sessions for all Banking Correspondents (BCs) to ensure smooth facilitation of pensioners in generating their Digital Life Certificates (DLCs). He further instructed the Bank to closely monitor and track the progress of BCs in assisting pensioners with DLC generation.
