Reasi Admin finalises arrangements for 150th Anniversary Celebration of “Vande Mataram”

Reasi: District Administration ReasiTuesday finalized preparations for the grand celebration of 150th anniversary of the National Song, “Vande Mataram” here at a review meeting chaired by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Sukhdev Singh Samyal.

The week-long celebration, scheduled from November 7 to November 14, 2025, will feature a series of patriotic and cultural events aimed at highlighting the historical significance of “Vande Mataram” and fostering a spirit of nationalism among citizens.

The district-level commemoration will be held on November 7, along with corresponding events at the subdivision, tehsil and block level.

Planned activities for the week include Flag Hoisting, singing of Vande Mataram, marathons, quiz competitions, police band performances and exhibitions on patriotic themes, special morning assemblies, cleanliness drives and the creation of patriotic murals.

The events aim to engage citizens of all ages in celebrating the legacy of the national song.

During the meeting, the ADDC reviewed department-wise responsibilities and emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts to ensure smooth and successful conduct of the programme.

Officers were directed to make arrangements for venues, cultural performances by educational institutions, publicity campaigns, security measures and logistics support.

Specific instructions were issued to each department. The Education Department was tasked with organizing events in schools and colleges to actively engage students, the Forest Department was directed to focus on plantation drives and the Youth Services & Sports Department was asked to organize marathons and other youth-centric activities.

Additionally, all Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) were instructed to conduct similar programmes at the sub-division level to ensure widespread participation. All departments were also directed to upload activity reports and updates regularly to maintain proper documentation of the celebrations.

The meeting was attended by ADC Rakesh Kumar; ASP Iftkar Ahmed; ACR Nitin Verma; ACD, Tehsildars and senior officers from various departments, who actively participated in the planning and coordination of the events.
