PULWAMA: As part of the nationwide celebration of Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas 2025, the District Administration Pulwama today organised an awareness session at Aripal to honour the rich legacy, culture, and invaluable contributions of tribal communities.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from local tribal representatives, students, and community members.
On the occasion rich tributes were paid tributes to the legendary tribal freedom fighter, Birsa Munda and the pivotal role played by tribal communities in India’s freedom struggle and nation-building was also highlighted
On the occasion, various government departments including Health, Education, Rural Development, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Forest, and others set up informative stalls. These stalls facilitated real-time beneficiary registration, on-spot enrolments, and provided personalised consultations regarding welfare and livelihood schemes.
Adding vibrancy to the programme, cultural performances depicting tribal art, music, and traditions captivated the audience and reflected the rich cultural heritage of tribal communities.
The awareness programme forms part of a series of activities being organised across the district to commemorate Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas.
The District Administration has chalked out a fortnight-long schedule of events to be held in various tribal blocks of the district to celebrate and promote awareness about the achievements, heritage, and rights of tribal communities.
