Spin Masterclass and Unbeaten Fifty Power Afghanistan to Unassailable 2-0 T20I Lead
HARARE :Afghanistan secured an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match T20I series, defeating Zimbabwe by seven wickets in the second fixture at the Harare Sports Club on Friday.
The victory was set up by a superb bowling performance, led by Player of the Match Rashid Khan, whose economical spell of 3/9 helped bowl Zimbabwe out for a paltry 125 in 19.3 overs. Skipper Sikandar Raza was the top-scorer for the home side with 37 runs.
In response, Afghanistan comfortably chased the 126-run target, reaching 129/3 with 12 balls to spare. Opener Ibrahim Zadran anchored the innings with an unbeaten 57 off 51 deliveries, with valuable support from Azmatullah Omarzai, who finished on 25∗ off 13 balls.
The third and final T20I will be played at the same venue on Sunday.
