ANANTNAG : The Principal Accountant General (A&E)in coordination with the District Treasury Anantnagorganized a Pension Adalat at Town HallAnantnag to address the grievances of pensioners and family pensioners.
The event aimed to ensure the early settlement of pending or unsettled pension cases and to create awareness among Pension Sanctioning Authorities (PSAs)Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs)and other stakeholders.
More than 500 participantsincluding pensionersDDOsand PSAsattended the event.
Addressing the gatheringPrincipal Accountant General (A&E)J.P.N. Singhurged all participants to fully utilize the benefits of the IT-driven transparency initiatives introduced by the department. He emphasized the need for DDOs and PSAs to process retirement cases promptly and assured that the Principal Accountant General’s office would ensure timely processing of all pension-related mattersincluding the issuance of Pension Payment Orders (PPOs)Gratuity Payment Orders (GPOs)Commutation Payment Orders (CPOs)revision cases under SRO-222and issues related to additional quantum benefits.
He also commended the District Treasury Anantnag for organizing the Pension Adalattraining programsand workshops aimed at addressing pensioners’ concerns and improving administrative efficiency.
District Treasury OfficerAnantnag Mohd Akram Thakkardelivered a detailed presentation highlighting the issues faced by pensionersDDOsand PSAs. He also elaborated on various initiatives undertaken by the Finance Departmentsuch as the digital processing of pension casesfrom the stage of retirement to submission at the Principal Accountant General’s office. He also elaborated on other key initiatives including the Pension Suvidha App and the facility of submitting Digital Life Certificates through the Jeevan Pramaan Patra App.
Deputy Accountant GeneralPawan Kumar RathiSenior Accounts Officerand other officers and officials from the Accountant General’s Office and Treasuries Department also participated in the event and delivered presentations and discussions on key pension-related issues.
