LISBON, Portugal – UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin has officially ranked Cristiano Ronaldo among the “top three best players of all time” in football history. The high praise came during his appearance as a guest speaker at the inaugural Portugal Football Summit, a new international gathering for the global football industry, which kicked off on Wednesday and runs until October 11.
According to reports, During his address, the UEFA chief lauded the Portuguese legend for his enduring career and unparalleled influence. “He is one of the biggest promoters of Portuguese football and Portugal,” Ceferin stated. He also highlighted the 40-year-old striker’s relentless drive, noting: “I have never seen such a competitive person. That’s why he’s struggling to stop.”
Ceferin emphasized the monumental nature of Ronaldo’s career, humorously suggesting that a comprehensive discussion would require significant time. “He is amazing, we would need over two hours to cover what he has achieved over his career. He is one of the best players of all time for sure, certainly in the top three,” he confirmed.
The Portugal Football Summit also served as a stage to formally honor the five-time Ballon d’Or winner. Ronaldo, who boasts a trophy cabinet including five UEFA Champions League titles, two UEFA Nations League titles, and one European Championship trophy, was presented with the Globo Prestigio Award in recognition of his 22 years of exceptional service to the Portuguese national team at the international level.
Currently playing for Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr, Ronaldo continues to defy age at 40 and remains a formidable force on the pitch. His extraordinary career has also seen him achieve another significant milestone this year, becoming the first footballer to be declared a billionaire by the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, thanks in large part to his lucrative contract with the Saudi club. He now stands just 54 goals shy of achieving an incredible milestone of 1000 career goals. (ATP)
