Beekeepers awareness programme held at Tethar Banihal

DC Alyas Khan encourages local beekeepers to invest in world-famous Sulai Honey

RAMBAN: Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan today presided over an awareness programme at Tethar Banihal organised by the Agriculture Department Ramban in collaboration with Sanglaab Valley Fed Honey Producer Company Limited.
The event witnessed the participation of nearly 250 stakeholders of the Sanglaab Valley FPO and the local officers including SDM Mohammad Naseeb Bajran; Chief Agriculture Officer Dr Vinay Kumar Jandial; District Agriculture Officer Kuldeep; Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer Ilyas Ahmad.
Among others present at the camp, included representatives from NAFED’s Cluster Based Business Organization Agriwatch, including Director (Finance & Compliances), Srimathi Bhaskar and Vice President Ashok Burman, besides State Coordinators FPO Project J&K Dr. Aaqib Hassan and Showkat Hussain attended the camp.
At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner inspected stalls set up to demonstrate modern beekeeping techniques. He asked the experts to share their experiences and innovations with the local Beekeepers to help them overcome the challenges they face.
Appreciating the local beekeepers and the Agriculture Department for promoting the world-famous Sulai Honey, the Deputy Commissioner encouraged them to increase the production and engage more local youth in beekeeping to enhance livelihood opportunities. He assured full cooperation from the administration in further strengthening the apiculture sector and making Ramban a hub of high-quality honey production.
The Beekeepers from different parts of the district shared their success stories and highlighted the growing popularity of Sulai Honey, which has earned a reputation for its premium quality and distinctive flavor. They also expressed gratitude to the District Administration and Police Department for facilitating hassle-free transportation during their seasonal migration.
