Director SHD Kashmir reviews physical & financial progress under various schemes

SRINAGAR: To assess the physical and financial progress under various key schemes and programmes, including UT Capex, Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), JKCIP, Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS), and NABARD, Director, Sheep Husbandry department, Kashmir, Dr. Rafiq Ahmad Shah, today chaired a high-level review meeting, here.

The meeting focused on the comprehensive evaluation of the ongoing developmental activities and their financial performance across the Kashmir division. Director emphasized the importance of timely execution and effective utilization of funds under these schemes to ensure tangible benefits reach the grassroots level.

A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to reviewing the implementation of the importation programme under HADP, aimed at genetic upgradation and enhancement of local breeds to boost wool and meat productivity.

Dr. Shah stressed the need for strict adherence to the timelines and quality parameters under the importation plan to ensure its success.

The functioning of departmental farms was also thoroughly reviewed, with instructions issued to ensure improved productivity, better management practices, and enhanced performance monitoring. Director highlighted the pivotal role of these farms in serving as demonstration units for farmers and supporting the department’s breeding programmes.

Additionally, the meeting deliberated on the status of Audit Paras and OB (Outstanding Balance) items, with Dr Shah directing all concerned officers to expedite the resolution of audit objections and clear long-pending financial issues to maintain transparency and accountability.

He urged field officers and staff to maintain momentum and focus on outcome-driven implementation of all departmental initiatives.
