Sewa Parv 2025 Day 3: Distt Kishtwar hosts disaster management drills, health camps & awareness rallies
Kishtwar: As part of the ongoing Sewa Parv 2025 campaign, a series of impactful activities and awareness programs were organized across District Kishtwar Friday featuring awareness camps on disaster management, health and wellness, fisheries sector, nutrition, community welfare and others.
The SDRF team conducted a Disaster Management Demonstration and Workshop on fire safety at Government Higher Secondary School. The session included live demonstrations on fire evacuation, handling extinguishers and adopting preventive safety measures. Mock drills on earthquakes, fire and other emergencies were also carried out to equip students with practical knowledge and preparedness.
The Health Department organized snakebite awareness drives across the district, where medical staff educated people about timely medical assistance, avoiding harmful traditional practices and preventive measures. Alongside, medical check-up camps were also held.
The Fisheries Department launched outreach programs for the Fishermen Community, spreading awareness about government welfare schemes like PMMSY, HADP, KCC and ATMA support services. The initiative encouraged Fishermen to avail scheme benefits for socio-economic empowerment.
The Municipal Council Kishtwar conducted awareness among street vendors regarding registration under the PM SVANidhi Scheme to ensure their inclusion in livelihood benefits.
Meanwhile, a spirited anti-drug and anti-tobacco rally was organized at HS SigdiBhata under the theme “Say No to Drugs, Say No to Tobacco.”
The ICDS Department carried out multiple activities under Sewa Parv and Poshan Maah. These included sensitization sessions on reducing sugar, salt and oil intake to combat obesity, father-led complementary feeding recipe competitions, and community pledges on nutrition.
Similar activities were held across Sub-Division, Tehsil, and Block levels by Health, RDD, ICDS, Forest, Education, Social Welfare and Agriculture departments, ensuring widespread participation and awareness.
The day’s events highlighted the spirit of Sewa Parv 2025—uniting communities through awareness, preparedness and collective responsibility for a healthier, safer and more resilient society.

Sewa Parv-2025: Awareness, Health, Sports & Community Progs organised across Doda
Doda: As part of the ongoing Sewa Parv 2025 celebrations, a series of impactful activities were conducted across District Doda under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh.
The programmes, organized by various departments and institutions, highlighted the theme of “Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi”—promoting development alongside cultural and social values.
The Department of Social Welfare, under the supervision of DSWO Tariq Qazi, organized an Awareness-cum-Distribution of Assistive Devices Camp at Malothi, Panchayat Panjgrain in Bhalla Block.
The event included awareness on welfare schemes, sensitization on drug prevention, girls’ education, gender equality and distribution of assistive devices among specially-abled persons.
The Health Department, under the leadership of CMO, Dr. Om Kumar and the guidance of BMOs, held multiple special health screening camps at PHC Changa (Block Gandoh), PHC Bharath (Block Ghat) and other health institutions.
The camps focused primarily on female patients, with emphasis on ANC check-ups, immunization, anemia awareness, general health check-ups and preventive healthcare under the “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan.” Mobile Health Teams from RBSK and RKSK also extended services to women, children and adolescents across the district.
Meanwhile, the Youth Services & Sports Department Doda, under the leadership of DYSSO Jaffer Haider Sheikh, celebrated Sewa Parv 2025 through a grand sports festival. Thousands of students participated in chess, volleyball, kho-kho, cricket and athletic competitions.
The event showcased youth empowerment, discipline, fitness and community participation, turning the campaign into a vibrant celebration of sports, culture and national pride.
Additionally, the Agriculture Production & Farmers Welfare Department organized special awareness programmes in villages and Panchayats across the district. Farmers were sensitized about schemes including JKCIP, HADP, PMFBY, Smart KCC, Soil Health Cards, Natural Farming, PMDP and Farm Mechanization. These initiatives highlighted sustainable agriculture, self-reliance and community empowerment, aligning with the national theme of “Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi.”
The District Administration reaffirmed its commitment to celebrating Sewa Parv 2025 as a festival of service, awareness and empowerment, ensuring that every section of society—youth, women, farmers and the differently-abled—benefits from inclusive development and welfare schemes.

Distt Admin Ramban marks Day-3 of Sewa Parv with health camps, awareness & swachhata activities
Ramban: Showcasing the true spirit of service and collective responsibility, the District Administration Ramban, under the aegis of Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan, continued the third day of the fortnight-long Sewa Parv celebrations with renewed vigour and enthusiasm.
A series of impactful activities were organized by various departments, educational institutions and local bodies across the district, focusing on community welfare, environmental protection and social awareness to ensure inclusive outreach at the grassroots level.
As part of the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan, a specialized health camp was organized at CHC Batote, alongside three health camps at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in Lamber, Harra and Amkoot. These camps offered NCD screening for hypertension, diabetes and cancers (oral, breast and cervical), ANC check-ups of pregnant women, anaemia screening, vaccination of children, TB screening, Nikshay Mitra enrolment, menstrual hygiene and nutrition counselling, along with AB-PMJAY and Vay Vandan Card generation with a special focus on women and children.
The Social Welfare Department held awareness programmes at Chachihal, addressing and resolving beneficiaries’ grievances on the spot. Aids and appliances such as hearing aids, walking sticks and support belts were distributed among eligible beneficiaries to improve their quality of life, while names were recorded for future assessment camps.
Marking the occasion, the Agriculture Department conducted cleanliness drives in Gool, Khari and Banihal, besides sensitizing students about agricultural production and allied benefits. The Animal Husbandry Department organized an awareness camp on HADP, poultry schemes and poultry management at Banihal and distributed free medicines to farmers in Halla, Ramban.
The School Education Department Ramban also actively participated in the Sewa Parv and SwachhataPakhwada 2025 campaign by conducting different activities across various schools of the district. These included administering the Swachhata Pledge to students and staff, organizing cleanliness drives within and around school premises and holding mock drills on disaster management and earthquake safety to enhance preparedness and awareness among young learners.
Higher Educational institutions, including GDC Batote and GDC Banihal in collaboration with the Police Department held campaigns under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan. Debates and discussions were organized to highlight the role of youth in building a progressive society, along with a digital story presentation on the life of Mahatma Gandhi.
The Municipal Committee Banihal observed Swachhata Parv with a pledge under ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’, drawing enthusiastic participation from youth and local communities.
SDM Gool presented the Green Ambassador – Swachh Bharat 2025 Award to Burhan Irshad, a Class 2 student of Career Plus Institute, Gool, recognising his contribution towards cleanliness and environmental awareness.
The district-wide Sewa Parv activities embody the spirit of service, strengthen social harmony and advance the vision of a clean, healthy and progressive society.

Sewa Parv activities continue in Reasi on Day 3
Cleanliness, Community welfare & awareness events held across Distt
Reasi: The spirit of community service and collective responsibility marked the third day of Sewa Parv 2025 celebrations in Reasi district held under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Nidhi Malik.
Multiple departments and institutions actively participated in a series of activities aimed at promoting social welfare, cleanliness, environmental protection and awareness on key public issues.
The Municipal Council Reasi spearheaded the Day 3 initiatives by organizing an “Ek Ghanta, Ek Sath” Cleanliness Drive at Bhimgarh Fort, an “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” Plantation Drive, water body cleanliness under AMRUT at Bhim Talab (IRP Chowk), a door-to-door campaign against single-use plastic in Ward No. 5 and a PM SVANidhi Awareness Programme in the Rehri Zone.
The Social Welfare Department held special programmes at GMS Kanthan and GMS Sarundi (Tehsil & Block Arnas), distributing stationery and sports kits to more than 100 underprivileged students. Children received notebooks, pens, pencils and other learning materials to encourage education and holistic development.
The School Education Department conducted Disaster Management Drills and Fire Safety & Earthquake Preparedness Workshops across 775 schools, witnessing enthusiastic participation from 47,315 students and 1,912 teachers. The initiative underscored the importance of safety awareness among the younger generation.
The Rural Development Department organized panchayat-wise cleanliness drives in public spaces, with active participation from PRIs, youth clubs, and local citizens, reinforcing the message of sanitation and grassroots community involvement.
The POSHAN Projects also made significant contributions. ECCE Day was celebrated in Anganwadi Centres under POSHAN Project Pouni. At CDPO Reasi office, an awareness camp under POSHAN Maah and Sewa Parv sensitized supervisors, Sanginis and civil society members about nutrition, healthy lifestyle habits and prevention of obesity and lifestyle diseases. Similar hygiene-related activities were conducted under POSHAN Project Arnas.
Adding vibrancy to the celebrations, Recipe Competitions were held at Gari, Arnas, and Pouni, while pledge-taking ceremonies at AWCs under POSHAN Project Pouni highlighted the community’s commitment to nutrition and wellbeing.
In addition, other departments carried out activities as per their Sewa Parv calendar, ensuring district-wide outreach and participation.
The wide involvement of citizens and successful execution of activities across Reasi reflect the true spirit of Sewa Parv—service, awareness and collective action for a healthier and cleaner society.

Kathua observes Day 3 of ‘Sewa Parv’ with focus on cleanliness, financial inclusion & youth Empowerment
Kathua: The third day of Sewa Parv 2025 was observed with great zeal across District Kathua, witnessing a series of activities centered on civic responsibility, environmental sustainability, financial inclusion, disaster preparedness and youth empowerment.
At Govt. ITI Bhaddu-Billawar, awareness sessions under Mission YUVA were organized to inspire students towards self-reliance and skill development. The institution also carried out extensive cleanliness drives in its premises, nearby schools and adjoining water bodies to instill the values of hygiene and environmental care among youth.
Similarly, GDC Ramkote organized a community cleanliness campaign in which NSS volunteers, faculty members and students collected wrappers, plastic bottles and waste materials from the surroundings, promoting the message of “Swachh Bharat, Swasth Bharat.”
Financial literacy and inclusion were another key focus of the day. JKGB conducted a Financial Inclusion Saturation Camp at Palli, aimed at spreading awareness about banking services, welfare schemes and digital transactions. The camp ensured that citizens, particularly in rural pockets were sensitized about the importance of formal financial systems.
Municipal bodies across the district also played a proactive role. MC Kathua undertook multiple sanitation drives under the Ek Ghanta Ek Sath campaign, implemented Single Use Plastic restrictions, collected fines for violations, facilitated Greh Parvesh ceremonies for beneficiaries under Angikar 2025, and facilitated enrolment of street vendors under the PM SVANidhi scheme.
Cleanliness drives were also carried out in Panchayats and marketplaces including Kohag, Dungara Lower, ThamnalBaggan and Billawar under the supervision of BDOs and municipal officials.
The message of environmental sustainability was amplified through plantation drives at Children Park Basholi, Dreamland Park Kathua and Co. 10/Rkt, with active participation of Forest, Wildlife and FPF staff alongside local residents. Around 200 saplings were distributed and planted to promote greenery and ecological balance.
Community outreach programmes were organized by various departments. The Sheep Breeding and Sheep Husbandry Departments conducted doorstep camps in Tehsil Mahanpur to educate farmers on welfare schemes, technical know-how and modern rearing practices. A farmer awareness programme at Panchayat Sabar familiarized participants with government initiatives including HADP, KCC, PM Kisan and PMFBY, aimed at boosting agricultural growth and farmer welfare.
To promote disaster preparedness among students, GHS Bhaddu conducted a mock drill with guidance from disaster management experts and civil defence personnel. The activity taught school children life-saving techniques and the importance of readiness during emergencies.

Sewa Parv-2025: Awareness Prog on bio-medical waste management held at GMC Udhampur
Udhampur: As part of the ongoing Sewa Parv, the Divisional Office of J&K Pollution Control Committee, Udhampur, organized an awareness programme on bio-medical waste management cum cleanliness drive at Government Medical College, Associated Hospital, Udhampur.
The event was held under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai, witnessing enthusiastic participation from the Medical Superintendent, doctors and paramedical staff.
They collectively pledged to adopt scientific handling and safe disposal of bio-medical waste.
A cleanliness drive was also carried out in and around the hospital premises, reinforcing the importance of hygiene in healthcare institutions.
They stressed the need for responsible waste management as a vital step towards protecting the environment and ensuring public health. The initiative held under Sewa Parv highlighted the shared commitment of healthcare professionals and authorities towards a cleaner and healthier society.
