2 Theft Cases Solved In G’bal, 3 Accused Arrested: Police

Srinagar : Police on Saturday said that it has have solved two theft cases by apprehending 3 accused involved in the commission of crime in Ganderbal and also recovered stolen property from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that on 8th and 11th September Police Station Kheerbawani and Police Station Kangan received separate written complaints from two locals Jalal-ud-din S/o Abdul Salam R/o Kokagund Sehpora and Wahid Ahmad S/o Haji Noorani R/o Chadrakote A/P Hayan Kangan who alleged therein that during the intervening night of 3/4 Sept and 5/6 Sept, some unknown thieves trespassed into their cowsheds at Kokagund Sehpora and Hayan Palpora and stole 37 Sheep.
Stating that cases under FIR No’s: 31 and 63 of 2025, under relevant sections of law were registered at Police Station Kheerbawani and Police Station Kangan besides initiating further investigations Police in its statement further said that under the directions of SSP Ganderbal Khalil Ahmad Poswal, special police teams were constituted under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Ganderbal and SDPO Kangan led by SHO Police Station Kheerbawani and SHO Police Station Kangan, adding therein that through strenuous efforts and with the assistance of technical inputs Police team led by SHO PS Kheerbawani apprehended a suspect Shabir Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Qadir Bhat resident of Arigoripora Kangan. Police in its statement further said that during sustained questioning the said accused confessed his involvement in purchase of 6 stolen sheep from one Momin Bashir Ganie @ Sahil S/o Bashir Ahmad R/o Gundi Mohalla Sehpora, along with Basit Bashir S/o Bashir Ahmad and Hilal @ Huzaib R/o Pehlipora Safapora near Dumping Park, Kangan. Stating that on the disclosure of the said accused 6 sheep were successfully recovered and subsequently Shabir Ahmad Bhat was arrested Police in its statement furthermore said that the accused Momin Bashir was also apprehended and based upon discloser of accused one vehicle bearing registration No. JK04D-0256 was also recovered.
Police in its statement further said that a police party led by SHO Police Station Kangan apprehended one accused in Pulwama identified as Gh Nabi Dar S/o Mohd Akbar Dar R/o Ruhama Pulwama and also recovered 15 stolen Sheep on his disclosure, adding therein that more arrests and recoveries are expected.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement police reiterated its firm resolve to protect life and property of the people appealing them therein to remain vigilant and share any information regarding suspicious activities, so that anti-social elements are effectively curbed.
